By the third day they promoted Lance Corporal Sullivan to lead the newly formed Duff detachment. Marc insisted that Butter remain unused to honour the memory of the fallen. May we never see Edward be used.

The lad showed great promise with Apples and was at the top of Murphy’s list of candidates. It would take weeks to recruit new members in their ranks and train them. Murphy is confident this will work.

Marc was more cynical, believing that recruitment had been easy in the past because of their high survival rate. Losing a full detachment in a single night is sure to dampen enthusiasm.
