Posey chuckled and said, “I’m beginning to like where this is going.”
Marc raised his hand and cleared his throat to focus on the men. They quit their chatter and settled. The group was visibly more interested in what was being proposed.
“That’s the goal,” Marc said. “Now you will need to be trained to act and behave as a soldier. That’s why I brought Sergeant Moore and Lance Corporal Delany. They will be your instructors. Two good soldiers who will teach you drill, weapons handling, and proper military bearing.”
This time there was no chatter at all. Now that there was a light at the end of the tunnel, they were willing to put up with whatever was needed. As long as they see the reward, we won’t have a problem.
