Into the Wild – Excerpt No. 4

Julia waited for her eyes to adjust. At first, there was nothing more than an elongated silhouette, one shimmering with the radiating heat. Eventually, the definition and colour gained fidelity, until she made out the well-dressed woman standing beside a black car with tinted windows.
