“So, it was you the entire time?” Julia asked.
“Non,” Evelyn replied. “I became involved when you made that phone call.”
That answer got her mind going, because she could not think of anyone who would come to her aid. Who thinks I’m worth it, when I’ve written myself off?
“Another corpse—vampire?” Julia asked.
“Is that what you call us?” Evelyn confirmed. “I suppose we all have our nicknames…”
