Man at War – Excerpt No. 129

“He’s not slowing down,” Marc muttered.

Next came the sound of a brick and mortar wall disintegrating as though hit by a sledgehammer. Fearing the worst he brought up his pistol to bear, just as the second wall gave way to the werewolf.

On its hind legs this thing must have been at least eight feet tall, and the claws alone were six inches long. It was literally a creature from humanity’s worst nightmare and the worst detail was… that’s not even a male.

a cinematic photo of a gigantic wolf with sharp teeth and piercing yellow eyes running at full speed blowing through a brick wall with debris scattered everywhere, set in a World War I era scene at night with the full moon hanging overhead, casting a silver glow over the destruction, the wolf's fur is a thick gray coat, the brick wall is old and worn with ivy crawling up the sides, a soldier's helmet and rifle lie abandoned in the foreground, the photography style is dramatic and intense with deep shadows and high contrast, the mood is one of chaos and devastation, the camera captures the wolf in mid-leap, frozen in time, with the wall crumbling behind it.
