Man at War – Excerpt No. 146

“What is she drinking?” Evelyn asked.

“Something new as a special request,” Cecil said. “Ward’s Orange Crush.”

He brought up a bottle from behind the counter. It looked like a beer bottle with a longer neck, clear glass and a ribbed design. Evelyn smirked at the sight of the ribbed pattern but did not comment on that feature specifically.

The liquid was orange vaguely reminiscent of real fruit juice. She guessed there was more to it than that. Evelyn would likely try it by the end of the night, depending how things went.

a cinematic photo of Wards Orange Crush, a vibrant orange drink in a clear glass bottle with a distinctive ribbed body, set against a nostalgic 1915 backdrop, with clothing and scenery reminiscent of the era, including intricate details such as old-fashioned clothing, vintage accessories, and a classic setting, captured through the lens of photography with a warm and inviting aesthetic, incorporating earthy tones, soft lighting, and a shallow depth of field to emphasize the subject, with the bottle positioned centrally, surrounded by subtle textures and muted colors, evoking a sense of nostalgia and timeless charm.
