That would have ended horribly for everyone involved. Marc might have superior speed compared to a werewolf, but only for limited amounts of time. It would have run me down eventually and used me as a chew toy.

“You know, Sir,” Murphy said. “You’re the only commander I served under that seems to genuinely care about his men.”

That was quite a compliment, but Marc still had to tread lightly.
