Man at War – Excerpt No. 194

That was a good question, one that required Marc to provide further insight on his own motivations.

“Because I’ll never win this war. It’s men like you that’ll eventually break this log jam and drive us towards victory.”

“So, you don’t want to fight?”

That question was a bit extreme, and may have shown a short sighted interpretation of his words. Marc chose to be more blunt.

a surreal and vibrant cinematic photo of exhausted soldiers with worn faces, sunken eyes, and stubble, dressed in tattered 1915 military attire, standing in deep muddy trenches with visible signs of prolonged occupation, miserable and weary, set against the ominous backdrop of No Man's Land at night, with searchlights casting eerie shadows, captured in a photorealistic style with film grain, evoking a sense of desperation and hopelessness, the soldiers' skin pale and dirty, their uniforms faded and torn, with helmets and rifles at their sides, amidst a bleak and barren landscape, under a dark and foreboding sky, with subtle hints of barbed wire and ruined terrain in the distance.
