Man at War – Excerpt No. 284

Despite the place being hidden from the random passer-by, Marc spotted at least three guards wearing Gendarme uniforms. He assumed there were more, but he passed by without concern. Meanwhile the vampiric security eyed his uniform warily.

He followed the directions Aelred passed on to reach the spartan platform. The tunnel itself was empty, with no indication on when the tracks would be laid.

After orienting himself, he pushed through a tarp curtain, to find himself in what would eventually be the men’s water closet. The walls were bare save for wooden slats, and some piping sticking out from the walls and floor.
