With that amount he could lead a change against the German lines and change the tides of war. In doing so, he risked subjugating his kind. The last thing mankind needs is an indiscriminate thinking weapon.

“You can have them come out now,” Marc said.

Vampires could be quiet, but he knew full well there were close to a dozen on this level alone. The sounds were minute, but even shifting their weight onto another foot made several sounds as the leather sole compressed or flexed to accommodate the change.

“Come on out Janus,” Aelred said.
