“That’s impossible,” Janus said.

“Clearly not,” Marc said.

“I saw the fangs,” Aelred confirmed.

“You didn’t,” Janus countered.

“I did,” Marc said. “Which one of you here thinks they are remotely qualified to judge me?”

There was silence, and in the end Janus lowered his weapon.

“I thought so,” Marc said. “Now, before we begin, I want to see their records…”
