Grace looked like she wanted to challenge Evelyn, but quickly adopted a smile and approached. The young vampire was no stranger to hiding her emotions, anyone with blue blood and familiar with European royal courts were practically born into it..

Grace walked directly to Evelyn and kissed each other on the cheeks. The motion was practiced and precise, which ironically did not involve any contact.

“I must thank you for finding this delectable specimen,” Evelyn said.

All the while Evelyn pulled out that strange cylinder. At first it did nothing, but when Evelyn took a sip from a silver flask on her workbench it began to glow.

Picture of a black haired woman with green eyes wearing a slip, holding a silver cylinder in her hand that glows blue. Located in a ballroom under construction and mostly empty except for a few sawhorses, tables, and a large granite piece. The walls were still slats of wood running horizontally and in parallel. The workers had yet to apply plaster. Cabling protruded from openings in the walls and ceiling, none of it was connected. Several lanterns to chase away the darkness. The air was thick with smoke. Scene and clothing appropriate for 1915 Canada at night.
