Something was brought to her lips, Julia looked down at the brown liquid with purple flecks swirling atop. It had a foul smell, strong enough for those with an iron belly to feel nauseous. Where have I seen this shit before?
“Boiled bark to dull the pain, and a few herbs to help with the taste,” Gwen said.
“No,” Julia said and curled her nose.
“You’ll feel right as rain,” Gwen said.
“Nan—” Kaylee said, which was immediately followed by the sound of a solid slap.
“No—” Julia said.
