Shawshank’s Shadow – Excerpt No. 6

Julia’s eyes went wide and glassy, distracted by the sight of her reflection. She expected to see a brunette, with deep brown eyes, barely-perceptible breasts and a gaunt face. Those were the details prominently featured on the mugshot stapled onto the cover of her medical file. A shot where every rib was visible through her tight t-shirt she wore on the night of her arrest.
