The Path Least Travelled – Excerpt No. 4

She was hungry, the hike had taken a lot out of her. With the help of a rock precariously perched atop a rabbit’s path, her supper was roasting over the fire. The bunny may have flattened from the experience, but it tenderised the meat. It pays to make due with what one has.

“Had you weighed a half-a-pound less,” Julia said. “You’d be resting comfortably in your den.”
