The Spy Who Loved Me – Excerpt No. 1

It was early evening and the weather was oppressive. Despite it being late November the temperature was a steady twenty-two celsius with a humidity that made clothes feel like they were just pulled from the washer. Five years ago they would still get snow around this time.

An image capturing a man in a military-style jacket and respirator standing on a street corner in a dystopian city, veiled in a dense, sepia-toned fog. Behind him, other figures in heavy gear walk past, blurred cars drive through the intersection, and scaffolding lines a building, with signs for "DANGER - AIR POLLUÉ" and specific street names like "ST-LAURENT" and "RACHEL" visible through the haze, giving the entire scene a desolate, polluted feel.
