The Spy Who Loved Me – Excerpt No. 25

I’m, I’m blue somehow…

Grace slid one of the rear doors and dropped in her backpack. In the middle of a large engine, and surrounding it there was an assortment of weapons. She put her pistol back in its slot, after sliding in a fresh clip.

Won’t someone hear my plea? Come take a little chance with me…

She made a note for her parents to crush the barrel and pull a new one from a nearby cache. That way no one would ever tie the ballistics to another crime.

A young blonde woman with her hair in a high bun stands at the open side door of a white minivan, looking inside. She wears a green jacket, large dark backpack, and white over-ear headphones around her neck. The van’s interior is packed with an arsenal of rifles, firearms, and tactical gear mounted on racks. The background shows a barren field under rusty-orange light. The image has a soft polaroid-style border.
