The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 267

Julia showed signs of irritation, her face slowly hinting that she was on the verge of taking action. This was a problem, because Clara was the obvious target, and had no reason to suspect Julia.

Clara blipped for a second. She appeared right by Julia and whispered into her ear.

“Stop. They think you’re human.”

Before Julia had the opportunity to realise what was said, Clara was back in place. Bolts continued to be fired at her, and her wings deflected them with ease… I can’t keep this up for long

On occasion she grabbed one out of the air and snapped it in half. Clara thought that anyone approaching a winged woman who moved fast enough to steal a bolt in mid-air would give them a reason to reconsider… Not when dealing with fanatics

a low-key, cinematic photograph of a determined female angel with dark, feathered black wings, rich brown hair falling in loose waves down her back, wearing modern, dark-washed jeans and a fitted white tank top, intensely breaking a Wooden arrow in half with both hands, the tension evident in her muscles, against the backdrop of a misty, moonlit forest at night, with tall, moss-covered trees looming in the shadows, their branches like skeletal fingers reaching towards the sky, and a few stray rays of soft, ethereal light peeking through the canopy above, casting an otherworldly glow on the scene, in a tight, cinematic crop, with a shallow depth of field, blurring the trees into a eerie, dreamlike haze.
