The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 275

“Fuck… You fucking got me,” Julia said, but before anyone could react. “I’m more of a fan of Proverbs 17:28. Even a fucking fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he doesn’t come across as an idiot.”

There came howls of laughter, and Silky stepped out of formation. Julia did the same, which left Clara curious as to who would win.

The presumed leader cleared his throat and Silky stopped cold.

“Ever heard of a vampire or ghoul who can quote scripture?” the leader asked.

Clara imagined Evelyn quoting the bible word for word while shoving the good book up their asses. Vampires were once human, and many were well read to avoid silly tests such as these. There are rumours that some had been Cardinals or even a Pope.

a dark, moody, and highly contrasted cinematic photo of a mysterious female vampire, dressed in a long, flowing black gown with torn lace and tattered edges, her porcelain skin deathly pale, her eyes blazing with an otherworldly intensity, her raven-black hair disheveled and wild, as sheTower dominantly over a hapless priest, his worn, pious face twisted in terror, clutching a worn leather-bound bible, while the vampire's pale, delicate hand grasps the priest's throat, her long, razor-sharp nails digging into his skin, the dimly lit atmosphere shrouded in shadows, with hints of crimson and gold accents, evoking a sense of foreboding and dark drama, captured in a shallow depth of field, with the vampire's face in sharp focus, and the priest's face slightly blurred, emphasizing the vampire's malevolent power.
