The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 292

The men facing her gulped, and she was pretty sure that several women in the audience snickered. That might play in my favour.

“Valkyrie?”

“Do I look like a creature of Norse myth to you?” Clara asked. “Brown hair? Grey eyes?”

That did not preclude her from being a valkyrie, but she hoped it might be enough to throw him off. He’s not going to stop there.

A dramatic, high-contrast, cinematic photograph of a majestic harpy, sourced from ancient lore and legend, set amidst a grand, dimly lit, expansive marble hall with sweeping arches and ornate columns. The harpy, with piercing green eyes, delicate feathered wings, and awoman's torso, stands regally, her smooth, alabaster skin glistening in the faint light. She is surrounded by a group of hooded figures, their faces obscured, clad in dark, tattered robes, evoking an air of mystery and foreboding. The atmosphere is tense, with shadows cast dramatically across the walls, while the marble floor reflects the faint, flickering torchlight, casting an eerie glow. The overall mood is ominous, with hints of ancient mysticism and forgotten knowledge.
