The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 296

Clara smiled and bowed once more, while ensuring her wings remained in view the entire time. Sometimes you need to add a bit of flair.

When the lead man breathed a sigh of relief, Clara confirmed this generation of hunters had not lost their predilection for being martyrs.

“They were expecting you to attack?” Julia whispered.

Clara could only nod while maintaining a warm smile. The applause had been going on for a solid three minutes and showed no signs of waning. Although she suspected there was more to their praise than a simple reaction to a rousing introduction. If I can get in, they can get out.
