The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 326

When no response came, Clara tried to take Julia by the hand. The werewolf reacted violently by tearing her hand away. Those eyes were quickly filled with rage. In a matter of heartbeats the fire died down and her lower lip trembled. Clara only swooped in when it became clear that Julia’s legs were about to give in.

“Sorry—(I forgot where I was),” Julia said.

“No need to apologise,” Clara said. “We can’t all behead the source of our torment.”

“I did that and more. It didn’t do fuck all.”

“No. The difference is they won’t be able to do it again.”

There came an awkward pause.

“Cold comfort,” they said.

A brunette with brown eyes, blue jeans, leather jacket, and a light shirt panicked and screaming. Next to her is brunette with grey eyes, black corset and skirt, and large black feathered wings move away from the other looking concerned. Located in a pristine Roman City.
