“People who never made the cut at The Tower,” Clara explained. “Individuals who once had a chance at a great life in the real world.”

“I knew I liked them,” Julia said.

While more than a light ribbing, it also matched her own thoughts on the encounter. These hunters scared her, but she was equally leery of any group so easily accepting of her.

“I’m a hunter!” Clara said in mock anger.
