“Time to sign off,” Clara added.

“Will I see you again?” Evelyn asked.

Clara could have sworn that the baby vamp had been holding her breath until she worked up the courage to ask. She must have been worried that Clara would leave her high and dry. Like I did after the incident on the dam

“I guarantee it,” Clara said. “I promised Eleanor to help with the lost souls here.”

“That’s a tall order,” Evelyn said.

“True,” Clara said. “I’ll be sure to call.”

“Deal!” Evelyn said.
