The Van Helsing Impetus – Excerpt No. 176

That was not who Clara was. The evidence was right in front of her nose the entire time. Namely, her inability to reach out to the woman she wanted. Clara tried her hand at normal, another face in the crowd, to be happy, and wholeheartedly devote herself to another. I did the same with Edith, and I’m doing the same with Evelyn.

“I failed,” Clara whispered.

She was a hunter, an angel, and was now a goddess. None of that screamed normal, and it was high time she accepted every aspect of herself.
