The Van Helsing Impetus – Excerpt No. 29

“What am I looking at?” Clara asked.

The last couple of kilometres to her destination was a new subdivision. First the houses were well established, paved streets, young trees, grass, and a car in most driveways. That changed as she neared her goal, properties she encountered further on needed work. Some featured beautiful homes surrounded by dried mud. Eventually the buildings themselves were in various states of completion.

Now she walked along what would be a street without any houses on it. The sites were marked, indicating that they would one day see a home with families and children. For the moment it was desolate and Clara enjoyed the slower pace.
