Man of War – Excerpt No. 116

“What’s the meaning of this?” Théodore demanded.

The Steward only had eyes for the guard. This was a ploy to put Marc in his place, which was doomed to fail, because Théodore had gotten his. 

To alter the balance, Marc would use the man’s christian name. It might not hurt if I share my opinion of him

Among the swelling ranks of the guards Marc spotted one approaching him with a limp. The man was visibly pained, those twisted facial features made him difficult to identify. Still, he could not miss those distinctive blue eyes of his weapons master. At least I have one ally amongst the crowd.
