The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 107

“Human?” Evelyn countered. “Yes you were. I felt the same when you went hunting with Julia.”

“Really? You?”

“Why would that surprise you?”

“…I just never saw her in that way…” Clara blurted out. “I-I owe her.”

“It’s all about perception,” Evelyn said. “You’ve never taken me on a hunt, but you drag along a psychotic shag carpet the first opportunity you get…”

Clara chuckled as she saw where this was going. They both had insecurities, because this was still new for the both of them… We have yet to set our boundaries

A dramatic, high-contrast cinematic photograph of Angel, with rich, dark brown hair cascading down their pale complexion, standing confidently alongside a snarling werewolf amidst a misty, moonlit forest. The full moon hangs low in the sky, casting an ethereal glow on the scene. Angel's massive black feathered wings, with subtle sheen and intricate details, stretch out from their back, as if ready to take flight at any moment. The werewolf, its fur a muted grayish-brown, stands on its hind legs, teeth bared in a fierce snarl. The atmosphere is tense, with an air of foreboding, as if the hunt is about to begin. The black of Angel's wings and the werewolf's fur provides a striking contrast to the moon's soft, silvery light, which illuminates the surrounding foliage. The overall mood is dark, mystical, and intensely dramatic, evoking a sense of supernatural unease.
