Next was the position of the sun, or more accurately the lack thereof. The sky to the east was beginning to take on shades of purple and blue… the sun won’t rise for another thirty minutes

Clara pulled out her phone and as predicted there was no signal. Phones tended to get confused when they lost track of towers and their home carriers were gone. She went through the menus, switched to a local SIM, and forced the phone to scan for available networks.

Within a minute she had data and sent a secure message to Evelyn.

Clara: Having the time of my life in Mexico!
