Clara smiled, and slipped the straps of her backpack onto her shoulders. She figured it would take a while for her to hike the distance, scout the area and find a way in… wait… 

“Do you know what’s waiting for me?” Clara asked.

“I only know that it’s not natural,” Eleanor replied.

The temptation was there to press for more, but knew from experience there was no deception in what Eleanor said. Eleanor did not have time or the luxury to learn things beyond her duties… meaning she sometimes came across as ignorant

“Is it dangerous?” Clara asked.

“Several souls I escorted away from here have attested to that.”

“Why away?”

“The distortions create challenges.”
