The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 137

“I’m sorry,” Clara said.

“For?”

“I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.”

“I have none, Clara.”Clara knew that was not entirely true. Eleanor did in fact have something that approached emotion. She had taken liberties on several occasions to help souls pass instead of remaining trapped in this realm… Eventually they become shadows of themselves, twisted, shallow, and sadisticpoltergeists.

An eerily lit, high-contrast, cinematic photograph of a photo-realistic poltergeist wreaking havoc on the terrified occupants of a dimly lit, distressed, and cluttered suburban home, with shattered glass, overturned furniture, and scattered belongings, amidst a whirlwind of swirling dust and debris, capturing the intense fear and panic on the faces of the family, particularly the mother's horrified expression with her eyes wide open and her mouth agape, and the father's futile attempt to shield their cowering children, with the poltergeist's ghostly, translucent, and twisted apparition looming large in the background, its ethereal tendrils snaking around the room, as if feeding off their terror, bathed in an ominous, warm, golden light with hints of crimson and indigo, evoking a sense of supernatural chaos and mayhem.
