The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 151

While outwardly calm, Clara’s mind struggled to deal with the deluge of thoughts and emotions that hit her. Their last encounter ended in death, so waking up with the man she beheaded forced her to question reality… is this a dream?

The man’s features gained clarity. While several traits were a match such as his chiselled jaw, cleft chin, and piercing blue eyes. Other traits clearly diverged from memory, such as the salt and pepper in his dark hair, and a crooked nose that implied he got into one fight too many.

His face was also dirty, covered in coal dust, but even through grime, Clara noticed the five o’clock shadow. His face and the well-built body were signs of someone who worked hard for their living. Even though his union suit, replete with a flap on his ass, Clara could see the muscles outlined… That makes him about a decade older

Photograph of a man with a chiselled jaw, cleft chin, and piercing blue eyes. There is grey in his dark hair, a crooked nose, and a five o'clock shadow. That face and the well-built body were signs of someone who worked hard for their living. Clothes appropriate for a 1900s European mining town.
