The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 20

There came a bright flash of light, powerful enough that the werewolf used her paws to shield those eyes. Clara did not react, the divine light of creation was something she was all too familiar with.

There came a snap of the fingers and just like that the forest went dark. Other than feeling drained, Clara waited for Julia to recover before saying anything.

“Go!” Clara said with wild eyes. “I won’t be able to hold them at bay for long.”

The large eyes of a predator opened wide. Even though the fur, Clara could tell that those massive muscles were twitching. Fight or flight, and in this case the werewolf chose the latter and ran off towards the camp.

A photo-realistic image of a massive black furred werewolf, its thick coat glistening in the moonlight, using its paws to cover its eyes. The werewolf's fur is matted and unkempt, with hints of dark brown undertones, and its eyes glow with an otherworldly yellow intensity. The trees, heavy with snow, stretch towards the sky like skeletal fingers, their branches creaking in the wind. The werewolf's hot breath visible in the cold air as it pants, its muscles rippling beneath its fur as it runs with a ferocious intensity, its primal power and strength on full display. The area is flooded in blinding making it difficult to see the background.
