The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 234

“Do you know what happened to the Goddesses?” Clara said, while doing her best to ignore the horror building up in the background.

“Clara made no mention of them after the rescue… You?”

“It’s hard to describe,” Clara said. “I felt as though we got separated when I missed my mark… not a peep since.”

“Huh,” Evelyn said while keeping her eyes fixed on a point to Clara’s left. “You sound like you miss them.”

“We…” Clara began. “…reached an understanding. You even flirted with Artemis.”

Evelyn giggled to the point of tearing up. When the vampire recovered, she dabbed the corner of her eyes before speaking.

a cinematic photo of a young woman with raven-black hair cascading down her back, bright emerald green eyes sparkling with amusement, and a radiant smile, wearing a luxurious, floor-length, strapless formal gown in a rich berry-wine color, giggling uncontrollably to the point of tears, with a few strands of hair framing her flushed face, her slender fingers holding a delicate, beaded evening clutch, against a soft, velvety black background that subtly gradates to a deep crimson hue at the edges, evoking a sense of old-world glamour and sophistication, with a shallow depth of field, capturing the intensity of the moment, and an overall warm, golden lighting that accentuates the textures and tones of the scene.
