The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 235

“There are more of them now?” Evelyn asked.

“One is the Virgin goddesses, and according to you the most beautiful. Funny how she was known for having young women with her while on the hunt…”

There was a loose smile on Evelyn’s lips, and the glow in her eyes was back… As though waking up from a rather vivid dream

“Are you looking for another notch on your bedpost?”

“I only-have eyes for you,” Evelyn countered.

A dramatic, cinematic photograph of an opulent, dimly lit bedroom transformed into an artist's lair, with an ornate, four-poster bed as its centerpiece, its wooden pillars bearing scars of notches cut into them with a knife, suggesting a story of turmoil and creativity. The bed's intricately carved headboard and footboard are adorned with gilded accents, while luxurious velvet drapes, richly patterned with golden embroidery, cascade down its sides. Amidst the lavish decor, art supplies are scattered across the room, with paintbrushes, canvases, and half-finished masterpieces strewn about, evoking a sense of artistic expression and chaos. The atmosphere is heavy with creativity, with warm, golden lighting casting long shadows across the walls, adding to the dramatic flair of the scene. The overall mood is one of mystery, inviting the viewer to unravel the narrative behind this enigmatic, artistic retreat.
