The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 41

Heat from the water was radiating into her back, and made Clara moan. Her back and joints had been sore for the last few days for reasons she could not fully comprehend. She closed her eyes, revelling in the soothing heat. After taking several deep breaths, Clara reached for a sponge and body wash. 

Bathing had changed much since she had been a child. Being the youngest she was always the last one to bathe, and by then the water was lukewarm at best.

What had once been a luxury reserved for the wealthy was available in every run down hotel. However, Evelyn did not skimp on her bathroom, the white marble, brass fixtures, and glass panels of the shower were signs of that.

Brunette in her late twenties, with wet hair, steel-grey eyes, and large black feathered wings. Uses a towel to cover herself. Located in a luxurious bathroom, featuring marble, brass fixtures, and glass paneling. Steam hangs in the air from the shower running hot water.
