The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 50

“I-I-I’ll call down to the front desk and ask them to send up a supply of sanitary products.”

There were advantages to Evelyn and Marc repurposing a hotel for their use. While this floor was exclusively theirs, the rest functioned as a high end hotel… with tons of surveillance equipment for blackmail

It certainly helped that they lived effectively on the thirteenth floor. People were accustomed to seeing that number missing from elevators, nor did they question why there were no doors in the stairwells between the adjacent floors… What’s bad luck for a vampire?

“Thank you,” Clara said, but Evelyn had already left the room.

A dreamlike and vivid cinematic photograph of a slender, porcelain-skinned woman's hand, adorned with elegant, silver jewelry, reaching out to touch the sleek, high-gloss touchscreen panel of a luxurious elevator, surrounded by ornate, polished metal walls that reflect the soft, warm tones of the ambient lighting, evoking a sense of opulence and sophistication, with a subtle, nostalgic film grain texture and a color palette that blends rich jewel tones with soft pastels, creating a mesmerizing, futuristic atmosphere.
