The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 74

“Why the gag?” Clara asked.

Sparky’s eyes glowed blue while nodding several times in rapid succession… that at least answers who did it

“She’s not adjusting well,” Silver confessed.

“I don’t think you three did either,” Clara replied.

“I was reasonable in comparison,” Ethereal said.

The deadpan delivery normally leeched the warmth from the very air Clara breathed. In this case it came across as an attempt at humour.

A cinematic photograph of the goddess of magic, her eyes radiating an otherworldly blue glow, with a manic, toothy smile and nodding her head rapidly several times in succession, conveying an air of whimsical madness. She wears a dazzling electric blue, beaded flapper dress with a flowing, tiered skirt and a matching headband, complete with a feathered, art deco-inspired headdress, evoking the opulent style of the roaring twenties. Her dark hair is styled in loose, finger-waved curls, framing her heart-shaped face and highlighting her porcelain-like, alabaster skin. The overall atmosphere is one of mystical, jazz-age glamour, with warm, golden lighting casting a sense of enchantment and mystique. The goddess's dress and jewelry seem to shimmer and sparkle, as if infused with magical energy, drawing the viewer's gaze to her mesmerizing, glowing eyes.
