The Van Helsing Conjecture – Excerpt No. 83

“I also don’t have a lot of allies,” Clara added.

“None you can take with you…” Silver commented.

That was true, as vampires were actively screened out by The Tower’s defences. Clara would likely do fine as there was nothing quite like her on record. I’d be liable to lose it if Evelyn ended up wounded, and Evelyn would kill me if Marc didn’t make it back

She did have Julia, and as long as they avoided a full moon, she passed off as human. It was a shame that Julia needed to heal, but Clara was not about to rush that process along to suit her needs.

a dramatic, high-contrast, cinematic photo of a pale-skinned female vampire with long, dark hair and piercing green eyes, wearing a flowing, tattered black gown, facing a blindingly bright source of light, contorting her body to shield her eyes with her slender fingers, her facial expression a mix of pain and fear, as a dozen determined hunters, clad in worn leather armor, armed with loaded crossbows, approach her from the shadows, their faces set with a resolute determination, the atmosphere thick with tension, set against a dark, foreboding background with subtle, muted colors, the lighting stark and intense, capturing the moment just before the inevitable confrontation, shot from a low angle, with a shallow depth of field, emphasizing the vampire's vulnerability and the hunters' menacing presence.
